We need you, our FishHawk Fellowship family, to submit names for potential candidates for leadership positions in our Church. To serve, an individual must have been an FFC member for at least 6 months:

  1. Pastoral Council
  2. Deacon Fellowship
  3. Finance Team
  4. eGOT

Beginning Saturday, April 25, 2020, a final ballot of candidates will be presented to the church by the Pastoral Council for prayerful consideration. Voting will be done by FFC members* in the elections to be conducted at our Annual Business Meeting here on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

Qualifications & job description - pastoral council member

To achieve the New Testament Church model, our Church is overseen and governed by a “Pastoral Council.”


These men must meet specific moral and spiritual qualifications before they can serve. Selection shall be based on biblical directives such as:

  • Character (I Timothy 3:1-10)
  • Giftedness (I Corinthians 12:12-31)
  • Function (Romans 12:3-8)
  • Results (Ephesians 4:11- 16)
  • They must meet the qualifications of a Deacon
  • (see “Deacon Fellowship” in this booklet)
  • Be a member of FishHawk Fellowship for at least six months.


  • They are elected by the Church by a 2/3 majority vote
  • They must be publicly installed into office (I Timothy 5:22; Acts 14:23)
  • They must be motivated and empowered by the Holy Spirit to do their works of ministry (Acts 20:28).

Job Description:

To assist the Pastors in:

  • Leading through example (1 Timothy 3:4-5)
  • Ensuring the following of Biblical truth (Acts 20:17; 28-31)
  • Praying for the spiritual and physical well-being of our people and staff (I Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:9; 1 Peter 5:1-2; James 5:14-15)
  • Managing the church and overseeing committees and ministry team (I Timothy 5:17)
  • Acting as the corporate officers of FishHawk Fellowship Church
  • Other duties as requested, including personnel administration.

Election and Terms of Service:

The minimum number of PC members shall not be less than five. Election shall be for one 3-year term

Qualifications & Job Description - Deacon Fellowship

Our Deacon Fellowship is a servant ministry working with the Senior Pastor to address the everyday needs of our church body. These men strive to in- vest themselves in the lives of our church’s members as caregivers and prayer partners.


  • The scriptural qualifications for a Deacon can be found in Acts 6:3 and in I Timothy 3:8-13, and in accordance with our Constitution and ByLaws, Article V, Section 2(e): “The Deacon Fellowship will be the primary pool of spiritually qualified individuals whom the Pastoral Council members will use to assist them in ministry needs of the Church as they arise. Each Deacon must be supportive of the Pastoral Council, Senior Pastor, staff, and minis- try philosophy of the church.“
  • Be a member of FishHawk Fellowship for at least six months.


  • They are elected by the Church by a majority vote.

Job Description:

To assist in the practical duties of caring for our church family, each Deacon is assigned 3-7 member families and is asked to:

  • Pray for, comfort, protect, and encourage people, helping to primarily meet their physical needs
  • Help members who are widowed, military families experiencing deployment and assist the pastoral staff in ministering to members who are hospitalized,
  • make contact with each assigned family at least once monthly
  • Be a positive encouragement in all matters concerning the welfare of the Church
  • Work with the Pastoral Council and staff as needed and directed.
  • Administer the Lord’s Supper at Communion Service

Election shall be for one 3-year term.

Qualifications & Job Description - Finance Team Member

The Finance Team is composed of at least 5 and not more than 7 individuals (men or women), with one member of the team serving as the Chairperson.


  • A follower of Jesus Christ who is growing in spiritual maturity (Hebrews 6:1)
  • A person who honors God with his/her finances and is not greedy for money (Malachi 3:8-10; Matthew 23:23)
  • A person devoted to prayer and one who is wise with his/her words and conversations (Colossians 4:2-6)
  • Be a member of FishHawk Fellowship for at least 6 months.


  • They are elected by the Church by a majority vote.

Job Description:

  • Meets to administer the church budget through monthly Finance Team meetings
  • Prays fervently over the church’s finances
  • Has authority to make financial decisions that will insure the smooth day-to-day operations of the church
  • Is responsible to ensure the credibility of the church’s financial deal-ings by conducting reviews and audits
  • Assist in preparations of the annual budget for the church and presents it to the congregation at least two weeks before its adoption at the December Semi-Annual Business Meeting.

Elections shall be for one 3-year rotational-basis term.

Qualifications & Job Description - Executive Global Outreach Team (eGOT) Member

In order to fulfill the Great Commission as outlined in Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19 to make disciple's both locally and in other parts of the world, FFC has created an eGOT.


  • Committed to attend the monthly meeting and must execute a Covenant
  • Shall meet deacon qualifications (except women may serve on the GOT)
  • Have a heart for world evangelization and faithfulness to demonstrated through past participation in mission trips
  • Be a member of FishHawk Fellowship for at least 6 months


  • The eGOT member is elected by the Church by a majority vote.

Job Description:

  • Assist the Missions Pastor in establishing, supporting and monitoring our missionary partners and their work
  • Ensuring godly stewardship of missions funds
  • Encouraging our congregation to develop as Global Christians in their Great Commission calling by praying for our missionary partners, giving to the furtherance of the gospel or going themselves to minister to those in need of the good news of Jesus
